Ok, fake title but it grabbed your attention This is not a whine thread, just a request. Dear Mid and Alb people, When you port to our frontier, Emain, please look around your portal keep for a NPC and speak with him, he will give you a so called "intercept" task. It also gives the hibies a so called "escort" task. It gives 240g when done solo. I´m kinda in desperate need of yknow..cash, but you don´t talk to the NPC anymore Please, he´s a nice guy, pay him a visit every now and then.
There are two types of missions that can be given. Escort and the inverse, assassination. You get escort missions when you hold more than 1 keep in an enemy frontier. Generally, the invading (porting in) realm will get assassination tasks. You get told of a courier that will be travelling (at walk speed, cons red to 50 but fights like purple) from Keep A to Keep B and you have <60 minutes to kill it. When this is activated, the defending realm gets told (at their portal border keep) that an escort is needed. AFAIK, the courier won't leave Keep A until at least one person has spoken to him/her. And it doesn't travel "as the crow flies", it follows set paths, generally in the open. Now, you can see a problem here. one side can want it to take place, but unless the other side plays their part, it doesn't work. Also, it's 240 cap. And Hibs have a habit of catching their couriers as they get to the destination. And quite litteraly, you can stop and talk (and accept) the courier 2mm from its destination, and you will get a share of the reward. Inversely, anyone that hit/fought the courier will get a share of the reward. For those really off peak hours, arrange with some friends in IRC to "help" each other out by starting off each others couriers, and then each run off to follow your courier to its destination, and hey, presto, 240g. There is a limit to how many couriers there can be in an hour AFAIK. -G

When done solo it is, but anyone within a certain distance of the courier when he reaches the keep/gets killed gets a part. I think it´s as far as view distance So with 2 ppl, you "only" get 120g, etc.
this is no bug abusing this is a feature of the game which can almost never be used unless you arrange it with someone i've done ~8 tasks with my enchanter and they're good money
Twice i've intercepted albs goin for a courier, was very easy rps. Pity they are so dam hard, and you have frontierpatrols to deal with too, when you get one in alb/hib
