Blackbyrd Family Goes Keep Raiding

Here's some pictures from first Blackbyrd Family keep raid ever.

Attackers:
- Belorym the Savage
- Morgyn the Bonedancer

We set out from Emain Portal Keep towards Dun Scathaig in Mount Collory. Our first challenge was to pass through Emain alive, slightly encumbered with our equipment as we were. Luckily, for the moment, Midgard had mastery of Emain, but reports told of Albion forces gathering and slaying any that they might come upon. We hurried and made our way to Dun Scathaig without encountering anything hostile besides few patrols on the way.

After resting for a moment down the hill, we begun our assault.

We had expected resistance but were surprised to found only few guards on duty, the Hibernians hadn't been expecting us.

"Charge!"

Up we went. In matter of seconds, rangers visible had been taken out. Everything looked well but..

The guards had been hiding inside to lure us near! Suddenly, six of them appeared and attacked us. After taking some out only to see new ones coming, we had to retreat.

After taking care of attackers on us, we gathered some strenght and went up for a new try. This time, no more defenders could be found and we could start building battering-ram.

"Boom!", went the ram. Hibernians didn't want their keep taken easily. The front door was very tough and even with our heavy ram, it took while to break.

Finally the door opened.

Our joy did not last long, reinforcements had arrived.

After short battle, we were defeated.

Blackbyrd Family does not give up easily! We were going back for another try.

Other Midgard forces had not been idle either, they had taken control of Dun Crauchon. This speeded us up since now we could go there for new ram, which we needed.

Luckily, Hibernians had not been able to fix the door while we were gone. After taking out the previous reinforcements with new strengh, we started working on the second and last door.

Finally the door broke and we gained entrance to the keep!

Too excited we were to notice yet more reinforcements that had arrived.

This time they were simply too many and we were taken down before we could do anything.

Shortly after, the owners of the keep also arrived and saw what had happened, must have not been a pretty sight! So ended our first keep raid, which was a great success. Next time, we will do even better, watch out for your keeps!
