Controlling Siege
I have a few noob questions ;) First of what is the requirement to control any siege? I know I've heard things but I'm not sure what the real answer is. Is it to do with primary tradeskills, or secondary? Also on that note... can someone who is an alchemist control siege if they're skill level permits?

Re: Controlling Siege
I can maybe answer some of those.

One only needs skill in 1 of the 4 mundane tradeskills to get seigecraft 1.

So any tailor, Fletcher, Weaponcrafter or Armorcrafter can operate, gain control or build (With the appropriate parts) a seige weapon.

You lose the ability to operate seige if you become an alchemist or a Spellcrafter. Besides why would you wish to soil your hands with the tools of man when you can dabble with the fabric of the universe ;)

Hope my answers helped some.

another question...
what's the trick to salvaging a used ram after taking a keep?

I've tried but the game always says 'it doesnt belong to you'.

I have done /control sucessfully, but /salvage still doesnt work.... I have done /control & /release, still no go...

what am I doing wrong?

Re: another question...
Only the builder can salvage. Salvage returns material nearly equal in value to the siege for the ironwood siege.

'Builder only' salvage prevents same-realm players from 'stealing' each others siege by salvaging it out from under them. Even if you take control of soemone else's siege while they are away (as in dead usually) they can still salvage it out from under you if you refuse to relinguish control.

Feel free to /repair other peoples siege though.

salvaging seige

harumph, seems like you should be able to /salvage seige if, and only if, you are in /control irrespective of the builder.

I hate to see people leaving behind all that wood from rams when it could be used to /upgrade and /repair doors.

Re: salvaging seige
And I'd hate to have you take control of my treb because I had to go get a groundtarget out of sight and have you salvage it on me for the 80 gold in wood.

Hoping for a lowering of the salvage timers so that the owners actually take the time to salvage.
