    my primary concern with making archers more viable was damage and to some degree having a better ability to bypass all the anti-archer defenses. my testing (limited) reveals:

    1. reliable, but low crit shot damage. averaging aroud 420 vs. archers/assasins.
    2. higher miss rates on all shots.
    3. specialty shots that hit for about the same or a little less than i am used to hitting.
    4.my galvorne's has yet to proc.
    i don't use rapid fire or long shot. they don't hit hard enough.

    some of this could be that i'm not using +10% dmg arrows, and lost +5% range damage bonus.
    but not all of it. wonder what others are seeing. im not sure i'm going to put any more time into my ranger (my main) if this pattern is the consistent experience of others.

    Did the damage change compared to last patch?

    That is low compared to my damage tests against my Healer (wearing chain) with full resists.

    Ok here are the results of some of the test on my RR4L1 hunter.

    Both Pend and Gareth 50 bow spec. Used exact same equipment. Champ bow.

    This is with ZERO in realm abilities.

    Against my 50 healer. With base buffs and 26% thrust resist (AF 675). Used thrust arrows on Gareth and thrust damage on Pend.
    I used my real world buffs on Gareth (champ dex and beastcraft yellow dex/quick) and what my new buffs will be after patch with 50 bow.


    PEND
    Critical Strike: hit for 575 almost every shot, with occasional 700s (not sure I understand why as they don't say crit) and one 700+ with a 300+ crit on top out of nowhere.
    Standard shot: hit for 291 almost every time
    Powershot: 412 almost every shot
    Point Blank: 345 almost every shot
    Rapid: 87 almost every shot
    Poison: 155 with 68 DOT
    Long: 164


    LIVE
    Critical Strike: hit for between 536 to 738 with wild variance.
    Standard Shot: 218 to 375
    Rapid fire: 160 to 305

    Observations:
    1. On Pend there is almost no variance. I hit for these numbers over 90% of the time unless I got a crit. On live the damage is all over the place.
    2. Rapid fire damage on Live is significantly higher, though I do think I fire a little faster on Pend.
    3. Still quite a few misses and blocks. More than you would think should happen from a non-shield spec character.
    4. There is a bug with the DOTs, arrow can miss and/or be blocked but the DOT still applies.

    My impressions:
    1. I don't mind the one button shots. Being old and fumble fingered it is easier for me.
    2. Rapid fire damage needs a little tweek up.
    3. I think the small damage reductions overall is easily made up for the fact that the CS will bypass BT.
    4. Point blank shot is very very good.
    5. Powershot shoot time is a tad too long. Though, I understand it is going to go through BT and break bubble and brittles. So it can't be but so fast. It realistically may be fine at this speed.

    i'd love to hear that other people have seen a boost to damage compared to live servers. i just want to know if at the current delves, it is less than, equal to or more. same for miss rates. again, thanks.

    I wouldn't say the damage was really an average increase, probably a small average damage reduction. But, it was dependable damage and close enough to Live that I was fine with it.

    I haven't seen posts about it, but I would like to see a comparison between the fire times on the different shots. I am sure my CS was firing faster on Pend than live, but I don't have good data to know exactly how fast each fired. If no one has the data I may try to figure it out tomorrow.

    I'm still seeing about a 30% damage reduction overall on 1.88g although siege shot seems to be much better than 1.88f. My ranger is 50+18 bow/archery, 8L2 on live, 8L0 on Pend, 418 dex when fully buffed, using the champ DA on live (5.0) versus red Archery DA (9.4) on Pend.

    Pend:
    Crit shots: 500-700, occasionally 800
    Standard shots: 270-400
    Poison/Acid: 230-250
    Volley: 230ish


    Live:
    Crit shots: 650-1200, usually around 880
    Standard shots: 320-660
    Volley: 350-600


    Far more misses on Pend but very little variance when I do hit. Crit shots on Pend can have crit hits but you generally only get one per target. I seem to be shooting faster on Pend than live (just under 2 seconds per shot using 1.88g standard shot, more like 3 seconds per shot on live).

    Notice the damage shield from Blade Shadow did 50% more damage than crit shot with bow (on the ONLY arrow that hit!)?

    No it was the same time, look at the time stamp. But, Mythic should actually change how it reports to show the shot going off prior to the uncover.

    This information is from some quick testing against my Druid who is in full level 51, 99-100% quality scale armor (27% abs), 680 af, 26 thrust, 27 crush and 29 slash resists. These tests follow the latest patch 1.88H.

    Ok both toons were RR13, my ranger had 50+23 bow, 378 dex with aug dex3 (celt ranger) and full buffs/dex cap equipment, he also had 2110 weaponskill with his bow out if that matters. My ranger only has 4% archer/spell damage from his current equipment. Using neutral damage arrows against scale armor(thrust) and the champ bow I was getting a consistant damage of 340-350 before any crits using Standard Shot 9. Point Blank Shot 8 was doing 440-450 consistantly, Crit Shot 9 was doing 682 constant, Power Shot 8 was doing 530-540 consistantly. Long shot 8 damage was in the 220-230 damage range. Both Acid and Poison shots hit in the 230ish damage range area, the dot proc on them now seem to be reduced my resists and they cannot stack with each other. With 26% cold resist Cold Shot 9 did around 440-450 damage constant. When I put up my druids resists to simulate grouping (42% cold resist) Cold Shot 9 still gave some nice numbers with 410-420 damage.

    So far these look like some impressive numbers against heavly armored toons, I'll have to get a helper to get some damage results against a cloth wearer and see what the difference is between a caster and say a tank.

    You would see the damage increase more from the Wild Power 5 (Falcon's Eye) and Aug Dex you would have at RR13. But, it does seem a little odd that it doesn't go up minimally due to the +Bow. I would guess it is a bug. If not there will be little reason to have +Bow in template.


    Overall I think the numbers look good. Open with powershot on a caster to do damage and break bubble. Follow up with a Dot arrow maybe. Then standard them to oblivion.

    When I began testing yesterday I was hitting mobs for 1159 or so with crit shot. Then I noticed that my buffs had dropped, but my damage didn't change. I went and got Aug Dex 4, and my damage still didn't change. I don't know if I was hitting the damage cap or not since I didn't crit shot any greys to find out.

    little wierd you guys are not getting a damage boost per point over 50.

    start dumping feedback on it, if you are really on the caster table you should be getting aprox 0.5% (one half a percent point) per point over 50

    meaning with +11 and rr5 you SHOULD get a 7.5% bonus to damage



    Edit: Razzaar, the damage on the test mobs is screwy at best. think I was hitting for 10 less then the little greys down the hill, which would be cap. only thing I test on now is my poor bot who has taken many a death for the team

    Damge is EXACTLY the same as the rr5's or Even a RR 1

    (If All Archers have a dex of 391 (with full buffs and NO aug DEX and NO +10% to Archery/Spell Damage)


    It was explained that + to Archery HAD NO BENIFIT other than stabalizing damage varience.


    this means
    1. No Bonus Damage for MAXIMIZING Archery and (+) to skill other than varience stabilization.
    ...............



    So With all that; As you increase your dex with AUG dex you see a rise in Damage output, just as you see with spell casters who increase thier aquity stat.

    Up till 412 damage increases decently (about 2%-5%) for purchase of each level of Aug dex. Once you hit 415 I saw NO increase in damage OR if so it was so small as to be baerly noticable.
