Taking Dun Bolg - Oct 10
It was a pretty standard keep-taking. There was some confusion about ram parts, so I think we only had one complete ram there. (Am I remembering that correctly?) But in the end it fell, we slew the heretical Hibernian despot and installed our own despot   ~er~   lord.
Does anyone have good pictures from the actual taking of the keep? Also, does anyone care to write up the distraction tactic?

Holding Dun Bolg
Brother Donnegal was able to make it at the last moment, giving us eight. Yes! The first Faithful keep!

Then came the hurried trips to the merchant keep for wood. Many, many pounds of wood later both doors were level 8. A bit of scurrying around, helping with some other raids, and most of alliance went off to sleep. (After midnight pacific time at that point.)
Our first claimed keep! If only Kotta could have been there to share the moment... So, in his honor, I'm making this photojournal a bit more detailed than usual. Perhaps he'll be able to see it in his mind.
It warms the heart to see our emblem on the brave defenders of our fair realm!

(Though it is a little strange to see Faithful colors on someone wielding a bow...)

Scoot left!    No, your other left!
Helms off, torches on.
(OK, I'll photoshop it later to get all the helms off.)
Now say cheese!!!

Same picture, but with names. Sorry Garethhe, your name is just too darned long!

And there was much rejoicing!
(Including Donnegal's strip act?)

Losing Dun Bolg
Just when Ysur and I were starting to fear that we'd have to abandon our post and go to sleep the Hibs arrived! Of course, with only two paladins to defend we couldn't do much but watch the pretty light show and report to the alliance. We saw several sneaky types skulking about, slew two and send one plunging to his death when he tried to escape us. But as soon as the doors actually went down, the sneaks that we hadn't seen took us out. I'd hoped for a slightly better corpse location for pictures of the the lord's demise, but a dagger between the ribs really cramps a camerawoman's style!

(Yes, there is a copy of my picture with names on for those who prefer that.)
The below pictures were taken over the course of about 1.5 minutes. Once the Hibernians actually got in Lord Gwydoc didn't last long at all...
It turns out that Dun Bolg was taken by Pak'Cafan and their friends. This is somewhat gratifying since they're a large, quite powerful guild (65 of them are 50th level) with the highest ranked alliance on Galahad and we held them off for quite some time (almost half an hour?) and doubtless caused them much annoyance. *grin*
