Has everyone still given up on putting AB back to the "they-parry" style??

Starting with SI, I really wish I had that style back, EVERYTHING parries me. sad

Hib and Alb still have their retroactive styles still. (Large Weapon & Polearm @ alot less then lvl 50). Another thing Mythic thinks Midgard should not have because it is useful, I guess.

Everyone always mentions changing the Frenzy model to drakulv or fenrir. How about Mythic slaps around one of their artists and gets us our own gd model. Ridiculous that a class defining/specific ability wouldnt get at least that. Heros got their own model(at least to my knowledge I dont know of any other moose modeled mobs.)

I really don't see them going for this, BUT, with all the current complaints etc. I think making comeback a side positional and frosty a directly off evade would be a nice tweak to the LA line. I really dont see it being possible, but it would be nice.

As much as I would love to see AB back as a Parry style or even a side positional I don't think its going to happen. For 2 reasons mainly, A) They just changed it. B) The idea of it being side positional was shot down according to the last thing I heard.

Same goes with Comeback, I don't think they want to move that to side positional and then move frosty to an evade stun. Mainly because I don't think they want berserkers to have an easy method of stun + frenzy. But, thats just a guess on my part. However, there is no reason for our utility to suffer when so many other class/spec lines offer rear or side positional stuns. Or even defenders rage for that matter.

Shield Spec, yeah I'm not very big on it. But, I got so many e-mails from people asking for it that I felt it was reasonable to ask.

Frenzy model, I'm not all that sure about but I could add it to the "other issue" section which details minor issues for the class.

Style growth, LA style growth is terrible. Every berserker knows that for a fact. However, I don't know if other light tanks suffer from this. Same goes for endurance costs, we take a pretty big hit even on styles other than doublefrost.

Unique RA, I think its realistic to see this changed very soon. Atleast in the upcoming RA patch I keep hearing about.

I think that addresses everyones questions, comments, concerns so far.

Oh, and the kobald zerker is a great idea imo :P I would come back and make one just to run around as a mini gerbil every 7 minutes grin

I think it would be cool if frenzy where changed to a DPS buff instead of a guaranteed critical hit.

I would switch to shield so fricking fast it is not even funny.

I would rather have shield + evade III + high parry than craptastic LA.

Nothing is worse than hitting for the same main hand as a warrior is hitting main hand but I get my uber 78 extra dmg from la and perma haste..../yank.

Gimmie a shield.
Least then I can slam, vendo, 2 hand people.

I think you should run tests. The tests I've seen have shown most of LA's growth rates to be the 2nd highest growth rates behind Critical strike line. Endurance is also almost identical to BM's and merc's. It seems they made all anytimes for all light tanks cost a lot of endurance. Perhaps it's so we use our positionals more.

There is only 2 chains that the BM has that offer more damage than our base styles, and that is the side chain and parry chain.

What about flurry?

It was added to BM/Merc to compensate for the dmg discrepancy way back when, but now that they nerfed Zerk dmg shouldn't Zerks get flurry.

Also, given the feelings by Mackie that savages need to be nerfed more i would not be using savage abilities as a comparison.
It may lead more to nerfing their abilities as opposed to something good for Zerks.

I didn't comment on flurry because he was not in question of it.

I think zerkers should get it, but have the timer turned off when you go into 2h mode and have a full 2 min wait for it to refresh once you leave.

The reasoning behind giving the other light tanks flurry was to componsate for the lack of frontloaded damage of 2h weapons, so that solution seems to be the best.

It would be nice if we could use schwords/hammers in our left hand i dont now if its a reasonable question but they cant do more than say we didn´t get it.

I agree on most and disagree on some but that is not important.

While you are asking for change in Frenzy/Protect icon, could you add to list Icy Brilliance/Sledgehammer icon?

very nice report. its sick how tw and dt have 7min timer with NO draw backs while rat is 10sec shorter then those two and offers MAJOR drawbacks. Our lack of a side style, lack of a side/rear 9sec stun, lack of a usefull style (high bleed or high asd that bm/mercs have) hurts our job as a light tank.

shield spec would be nice to have, both mercs and bm have it and they are light tanks.

Sorry, have to point out the errors here...

1) Rear chain is extremely good for damage and using the Hammer or Axe side positional styles make up for the lack of a side positional in the LA line.

2) A zerker in frenzy is still the highest single target, damage-output player in the game, bar none. I use frenzy in almost every fight I am in, but its not like you can just hit the button as you are charging. Pick your targets wisely in addition to learning the right time to use the ability and you dont have to worry about it being negated.

3) LA styles have always had the same END costs as comparable styles. The reason zerks go through END so fast is two-fold.
A - Most Zerkers swing a 4.2 Spd weapon which takes a lot of END.
B - LA has an artificial haste which allows you to swing at a faster rate but at the same damage and END cost as swinging slower. This is a strong advantage.

Moreso, a Zerker with END4 can typically go through a fight styling 80% of the time. No, you cant just spam DoubleFrost... use your positional styles. To cover that last 20% of the time, go buy some END heal pots or bounty stones for when you are empty.

4) LA styles are not competetive?
Rear chain (compared to typical 0.65 rear chain)
Snowsquall - 1.0
Icy Brilliance - 1.15
Aurora Borealis - 1.3 + Proc

Comeback is 0.9 and Icy Brilliance is 0.95, thats the same as any other conditional styles (barring Reaver/Savage/VW who rely on conditionals in head to head fighting since they lack anytimes other than taunts).

As for Snowblind vs DoubleFrost.
Snowblind - 0.6
DoubleFrost - 0.75

Throw on some of your spec weapon styles to round out your melee and youre doing great.


Overall?
Zerkers are still very powerful and add a lot to groups. There was an issue when Savages were overpowered, but now that they were brought down a bit, the Zerk once again fits in the mix fairly well. Will a Zerk outtank someone head to head? Probably not, but if you get around them to use your positionals (as a Light Tank should), you will kick out some massive damage.

Things that should be looked into?
1) Positional Stun -- If you work as a group, this is not an issue, but I can imagine its a sore spot for the class as the zerk is one of the very few classes in the game who does not have a positional stun (Merc also does not)
2) Rage -- change to 25%-75% crit damage variance (or even 40%-60%), 1-99% is just too much of a swing

Other than that, the class is doing pretty darn good.
