This has been a recent question in two threads. It is of obvious interest to know this so that we can be speedy in summoning.
If the transfer occurs at the start of summoning, then the fighting gear could be swapped in during the summoning.
If the transfer occurs at the end of summoning, then the summoning gear could be swapped in during the summoning.
I decided to do a test while enjoying my first cup of coffee this morning
Common test features
Abomination is summoned.
It is not buffed.
The number of hits and total damage prior to abomination death are recorded.
Opponent is the level 50 thrust test mob north of Camelot.
Test 1
Most gear removed from necro
Necro has 980 Hits
Test 2
Added gear prior to summoning
Gear had +280 hits, +37 con
Necro has 1363 Hits (+383)
Test 3
Begin summoning with Test 1 gear
Add Test 2 gear during summoning
Notes:
1. The total damage to kill is only approximate since the actual kill shot is not reported, and the abomination regens some hits during the fight
2. The added gear should result in somewhat more than +383 hits on the abomination since it gets more hits/con than the necro does
Results
Test 1: 23 attacks, 1772 damage
Test 2: 29 attacks, 2190 damage
Test 3: 28 attacks, 2186 damage
Conclusion
Summoning gear may be added during the summoning interval.

Awsome Redh, always been kind of wondering that myself but never got around to testing it myself. Just played it safe and put it on before summoning, so now I dont have to worry so much.
