I've read a lot of posts where people say that having an arb specced ani helps with the to hit code when you are running 2-3 animists for high level encounters etc.

My question is which spells do you use to help with this as an arb specced animist? The ae bombers, single target bombers?

Also which level spells are best to use for this purpose, and will the bombers actually do damage to extremely high level mobs once you have a set number of FnF's down etc?

The spells are not what breaks the code .. it would be the FnF turrets that will do that.. put about 6 of them down and main pet.

Ok, thanks. That is what I always thought.

Does speccing arb help at all with very high level mobs?

What I mean is will the arb bombers land or is it better to spec verdant if the animist is mainly for helping with high level arti encounters and general pve?

(Edit: I have seen many posts where people say to spec arb, that is why i was wondering if it provides any benefits for pve over verd happy )

For PvE, you will generally want Verdant because the pbae and aggro management are key You will want druid buffs on your controlled shroom to make this work.

Well if your talking pure damage to high lvl mobs, arb spec bombers do nice. But if you want to play it safe verd is your best bet.

A good all around spec is 50 arb/20 verd since your lvl verd pet you get(18?) buffed can take down high lvl mobs itself ( slower but it works). Warriors in Typhons for example, on a fully buffed verd pet, will hit it for less than 100damage a hit. Not the most efficent way to kill them, since you have to rely on lower melee from pet, and your damage shield, but it works throwing in a few bombers when it gets below %70 health.

But if you looking to farm scrolls Arb is great, im 50 arb and can solo (with bot for PF of course) the mobs in typhons with just bombers and no controlled pet. Warriors, warlocks, priests, etc. you have to kite some, but most will drop before they get to you. Just prepare to heal sometimes :P

Thanks all for the info.

I will mainly be doing artifact/ML encounters to help out friends at 50 once I level the toon and we will have 2-3 other animists.

It is nice that the bombers will land on the higher level Siam he mobs. Will they land at all on any of the higher level artifact mobs, such as battler, zahur and GS encounter mobs (with 45-60 FnF's down) etc?

well here are my findings. farming is not hard even as a verdant spec..

what you need to think of is what is the main purpose of your ani. if it is rvr then i would go ARB and use that form of farming.

If it is farming and leveling and helping out. i would go VERD..

with red and low purple mobs. just place your Controlled pet and buff.. body pull the mobs and when you main pet has agg drop 5 FnF pets and the shield pet and the spore pet .. the FnF damage pets from arb line will break the to hit % and your min pet will keep aggro since you are casting pbaoe on them.. you should probably be able to take 3 at a time with a short down time inbetween pulls. if you have a good PVE temp you should rarley have down time with PF and tarts and 50% power and MCL2. the best way is to team up with another any Verd or ARB and go to town on the mobs.

If you are worried about healing pet.. the druid can do this with the small heal or a 350 heal .. without pulling agro..

my thoughts.

i used this method on Centaurs and i could pull 4 at a time and no issues

The great thing about arb anni's is that when you spam enough shrooms to make bombers and other spells land, the arb anis' bombers hit, and hit HARD. This helps take down the tough mobs in a more timely manner.

Full arb spec bomber delves at: 225 (48 spec in arb)
Full verd spec is only capable of a baseline bomber in the creeping line for: 159 damage

The arb ani will hit harder.

Verd anis' max Pbae delves at: 225 d at 48 spec in verd, but it is cast by a level 44 pet, and is much more easily resisted than are the arb bombers.

As an ani, there are many tools at your disposal for taking down mobs, and the fun part is finding the right combo for the given situation. My verd ani can either lay down max level shrooms, kill mobs quickly, and wait on power regen, or, use max low level shrooms, cast low level bombers, kill a mob more slowly but not have to wait on power regen at all. It depends on the situation at hand, and what mood your in.

Arb ani's are the same.

One trick I use is to spam the spec debuff bomber in the creeping line, the "gleaming' ones. They take practically no power and cast MUCH faster than the nuking bombers. The little gleams combined with a stack of shrooms will break the hit code very fast and in a big way, much, much more than just the shrooms alone.

A friend and I have 2 46 arb animists, and with PF bot we did..

Golden Spear
Battler
Guard of Valor
Croc Tooth

and a few other high end encounters..

if you dont have enough pets with just the fire and forgets, use the level 1 wisp spells, they add to the number of pets on him, and can help break the code. We had to use this for breaking Battler.

Also, make sure you do 15 fire and forgets, and then cast your controlled pet, that way you can get 16 pets up.

So bottom line if you are wanting to do PvE only and higher-end artifact mobs, is an Arb Animist and a Verd Animist a good a combination as any?

The mis-information in this thread brings a tear to my eye...

All shrooms AND bombers/wisps add to attack count.

Bombers and wisps are both 3s cast time.

If you break epic-level mobs with shrooms + low level bombers, an arb spec will out damage other specs by a massive margin.

Aye. Bombers are pets and thus count towards the attacker to-hit-code.

A little confused, when you talk about casting bombers is this a way of getting past the 15 pet limit a little? With 15 down you can't cast bombers I thought.

Say cast 14 pets; spam bombers; the effective pet count on the mob is somewhere around 18 or so due to the attackers/time calc the game uses?

Or just cast your 15?
