In 1.70 nature's shield works very well for me. I was blocking 5 scouts who where perched on the top of a lvl 10 tower. The only times it's ever dropped for me are when I've been casting, or when I accidentally had cancelstyle on.

maybe server lag

since we in EU got NF i only been hit by 2 arrows with NS up (when not casting running around like a lil girl or other fancy things) one was when we had a standoff against a real big alb-zerg ... the other when i went LD (same zerg) ..

well that made me look real dumb in teamspeak as i told all my groupmates one minute early how dumb all this 20 scouts are that shoot me for over 5 minutes ..

Seeing as how Nature's Shield toggles is it possible that when you--"made sure twice before I exited the tower that NS was up"--You targeted yourself and hit Nature's Shield (which would turn it on) and then before exiting the tower did the same thing again (which would turn it off)?

I've never noticed height being an issue, nor the number of archers. If I'm killed by an archer I'm either casting, NS isn't up, or they're behind/beside me. If it's a bug, I haven't noticed, but I will certainly be on the look-out for it this weekend at any sieges I got to.

I have seen big difference in the amount of arrows I block and buffs. With out buffs a person can usually manage about 6 different targets...more over that and some arrows do pass through. With buffs I have had up to around 15 different targets firing at me w/o an arrow making it through. I believe there is a small chance built into the style for an arrow to make it through....be it small but still possible.

Just my 2c.

I really dont think buffs affect natures shield, but I could definitely be wrong.

TrueShot
Penetrates bubble and does full damage.

You won't get hit with it often, because most archers don't spend the points to purchase it. I use it all the time on casters and usually follow it up with a critshot. Most clothwearers drop before they realize what has happened.

archers need the beat down.
who brought them back to pre nerf status of 1 hitting people?

towers and keeps was all that needed to change, archers are insane now, totally uncalled for.

For an animist, sure. I don't think it has any effect on a Valewalker's "Nature's Shield" style, though. I could, of course, be wrong, though.

TrueShot only penetrates PBT. It does not penetrate the self-cast bubbles.

My understanding is that there is a random chance for an arrow to penetrate self-cast bubbles and then based on Bow Spec Lvl will do a percentage damage once penetrated (100% at 50).

Hope that helps.

i had my NS shot through a few times when NF first came out. haven't noticed it happening lately, though, even while spamming the style in combat it seems to be blocking the arrows it should. it may just be true shot, as has been said. if that's the case i can't really complain about it, as long as it isn't a 100% sure-fire thing. they did have to spend extra points for it afterall, and the poor scouts have such a hard time with us. i'd gladly allow for trueshot if they'd make the fool's bow stop proccing on us through blocks. :/

I have a Level 50 Ranger. I don't play a Scout, so my information could be realm incorrect, but not only does Trueshot blow through bubbles occasionally, but if the Scout has the same ability with bow specced to 50, that also can help. Again, their realm abilities may be a bit different.

Yeah.. you must be doing SOMETHING to break NS .. i've had over 5 scouts rapid-fireing on me while i'm standing there with NS up, blocking 100% of the arrows ... you can't cast, that breaks NS (while you are casting, it will still be there when you stop) .. you must be doing something.

1.1k sounds like a decent capped hit from a critshot. 1.3k as posted by someone earlier is either a flat out lie or the most ubertwinked RR12 scout in the known universe! tongue

If you want to see critshot caps from the horse's mouth then look here -> http://vnboards.ign.com/Albion_Rogue_Professions/b20906/79633897/?10

As for the original question, I'd say no, scouts havn't found an exploit. It's more likely that NS is dropping for some reason or something weird is happening. One weird thing I can tell you about archery shots is that the 'hit' calculation is made when the arrow is released, rather than when it visibly hits you, so things look out of sequence. A prime example is a scout shoots at me, I Phase Shift (I'm a ml10 sojourner ranger), then I get hit. That should be impossible because I'm Phase Shifted, but that's the way the ballistics code works (same thing happens with bolts).

(edit - typo)
