tee hee

recently i was in a high tower in emain, defending it from a small group of enemies. they had backed off due to archer power.

i saw one enemy run towards my tower and stealth a ways out. i quickly set my GT about 500 units ahead of where he stealthed and began my volley. think i knocked him out of stealth on the first shot. a few normal shots later he was dead and probably seething. omgz0r the funz0r!

Also when 'trolling' for stealthers like this [dunno if it's been mentioned yet in this thread], you can move your GT while volleying, to cover different spots.

I wasn't sure if you could move your gt, though the idea had occured to me. I'll make sure to use it Shifa. Thanks.

Great thread, but can it be updated with info on the current version of volley?

I especially appreciate the tips on setting ground targets but I still can't find a use for volley with all the not-in-range messages.

Instead of starting a new thread, I'll ask this volley question here.

Will volley, as an AE attack, remove the Brittle Guards?

I know that volley is still suseptible to Blade turn, but will it also hit and "remove" the brittle guards if a caster has them up?

Just thinking of ways to quickly remove BT and BG without having to shoot the same target 5 times.

Yes, and yes

When volleying a keep/tower you will get the standard messges, a magical barrier absorbed the blow, and the standard brittle guards take blah blah blah damage.

I didn't read all 5 pages but I wanted to point this out......I didn't see it in what I did read.

Syncronized Volley with Multiple Archers........It has been proven to take out Many People.

That is all.

Thanks Battleground. Not sure how I can effective use in on a constant basis, but knowing I could possible drop a casters defenses in one action is worth considering.....

....now maybe if I snuck up behind them...hummm...

You'll find more uses then you think I'm sure- I've used it a few hundred times already from poppin' bladeturn on casters campin bridges to tower keeps.

There is also one even better- imagine this....

Assassian uses Vanish to survive- immediately toss a gt at your feet and volley, he ran for a reason and if you move your gt out if the first doesn't repop'm then I just move out 150 units and volley the 4 directions- usually has good success.

Give it a try, and let us all know what uses you find to for it.

^^^ I do something similar at enemy towers...I volley just in front of their tower door which surprisingly pops a lot of stealthers going in and out.

Of course, you can also put your GT just on the other side of the door and pester the peeps who are afk bio.
