This would be a great sticky. If Angharad Macsen would repost this it would be great so they get credit for researching the info.

depends on the piece, the amount you need to spend depends on the sellback of the item you're enchanting, so for cloth or leather you'll get 35% on most pieces with just the 32 or 64 silver dust or less. Once you get into legendaries or chain/plate and chestpieces it gets a tiny bit more expensive.

What I've found:

Hauberk : 64s dust.
Legs, Helm: 32s dust.
Gloves, boots: 8s dust.
Sleeves: 16s or 24s, depending.

Weapons: 64s or 1g28s, depending.
Shields: 8s.

In any case, the amount is so trivial as to be meaningless. Whenever I do an SC job, I offer to do the enchantment. If the customer doesn't take me up on it, I ask him to let me know what it cost them when they enchant it.

Then I tell them what I would've charged - 6g for a complete suit...though actually I don't even bother to charge that much - I just soak up the 2g cost in my normal profit.

yeah, its not really a great porift maker as the cost for enchanting at an NPC really isnt even that much, but it is a nice thing to be able to do to please a client. i kinda think of it like a waiter folding your napkin at a restaurant. it costs basically nothing, takes minimal time, but improves your tip significantly.

On my cearleon crafter I used to do the same thing with regards to alchemy procs when doing SCing. if when i went to do the SCing i noticed the armor was unprocced or unenchanted, i would offer the additional services at cost. or if they had procs, id imbue them for free. it usually resulted in about a plat worth of additional tips, and a warm fuzzy feeling.

--------
just FYI, if you do SCing witht he 3-1 system (3 gems non OC, then 1 last gem for the OC), be sure to imbue the proc and enchantment when you do the 3 gems, or do that step later upon completion of the SC. if you blow up while SCing, you lose ALL gems/dusts/procs that you are combining, not just the sc gems. it would really suck to lose a 350 gold proc because you rushed and tried to do it all at the same time.

Good info happy

I keep a stack of 64s ones in my pack - I haven't come across anything that needed more, and the lack of hassle (having mult dusts or buying per order) is worth the few silver I might on the items that would take less.

I always enchant.. I don't even ask (I just check it, if not enchanted - do it). To those in the know.. they are tickled, to those not - I get to explain how I just saved 'em some decent money. I did have one person close the trade window and reopen it very confused at what 'that dust thingie' was and even after I explained twice he still kept closing window until I said 'just leave it there, trust me - it will help not hurt' lol

From the surprise most have, it seems I am still in the minority of SC'rs on the servers I openly craft that also enchant.
