I'm not sure how accurate that is. It's 1.48. The issue with exploiting multiple buffs didn't really creep up until ToA release. Besides, even if they had changed it to something similar to this you could have more than 20 buffs on you before, and now, and if you have more than 4 negative buffs on you that still means you can exploit the others.

Unless you want to tell me something about that buff taking priority over others then this entire conversation is not worth having.



As for the health regen, almost worthless but not quite. It sure could use some love. (with almost all wardens now Battlemaster spec I don't see it happening)

Has Health Regen an effect?
Yes.

Is it like a HoT or a frigg?
No.

Does it decrease downtime in PvE?
Certainly.

Useful in RvR?
Not anymore.

Find a nice spot in PvE and solo for about half an hour on known mobs without and then with health regen on. Count the number of mobs you kill. You might get surprised.

But it needs to be useful in RvR, not PVE.

When you're a class that can heal, you can just heal yourself after a few pulls if necessary, in PVE.

In RvR, where sometimes you don't have the chance to heal yourself because your healing someone else or your mana is low from having PBT on, health regen can be useful, but only the heals are for more points per tick than they currently are.

Taken from Mythic's feedback on the last TL report --

"Wardens are a "renaissance man's" class - they have a large range of abilities that they're good at instead of having one ability that they're really, really good at. We're willing to take specific suggestions for changes to the class, but as it stands now this class is pretty much working as it was designed to work."

Don't expect any love from Mythic regarding Wardens...

OH btw....almost forgot....Nirgal has already suggested changes to this spell which also got "shot down" by Mythic.

Solar Conversion

Issue Description:
Wardens do not benefit from their self-health regeneration buff because it is generally more power efficient to heal oneself between fights. Request that this spell line be changed to a self-heal proc or self power regeneration.

Mythic Response:
Generally the self-health regeneration buffs for Wardens are better than the concentration buffs, and last for 20 minutes. They require only 8% power to cast, which is really considered minor. By our standards this isn't bad at all. We're a little confused by your request to change it to a self-heal proc or self power regen.

The problem is not the power it takes to cast, it's the fact that it's basically ineffective.

He should have asked about increasing the values a bit instead.

Oh well.

He should have put "it is generally more time and power efficient to heal in between battles" instead of just power efficient.

15 or so hps per tick does not do anything when you have about 2k hp.

I would rather they just remove the regen spell entirely and replace it with something useful like a spec group heal or spread heal...

I tested this way back in the days when MacG was the TL and Neill was still CPenny. I posted about it but nothing really came of it. Here's the real deal:

Solar Regen isn't weak and ineffectual due to the values. It is ineffectual because the Regen Rate is tied to "cycles". Cycles are not "ticks" because cycles change in their duration depending on whether you are sitting, standing, or fighting. It's been a while since I've thought about this so I might be wrong with the fighting value but cycles break down like this:
sitting- 3 seconds/cycle
standing- 6 seconds/cycle
fighting- 14 seconds/cycle

So Solar Regen is regenning health at a faster rate sitting, than fighting. Okay. The problem with this is if we aren't fighting, we could just HEAL OURSELVES. This spell would be most useful to us in battle when we cannot heal ourselves. However, that is when it is least efficient.

I liked the suggestions concerning making this a power regen. I also thought we could ask that it be put on a 6 second/tick regen rate regardless of what our action is and take the thing off of cycles. I don't believe that suggestion has ever been made. If it is made in the future, I would suggest logs to illustrate that the spell is tied to cycles.
