Hey I'm PLing my cabby up and he's gonna be 50 in not too long and hopefully templated quickly too. I was wondering about how to effectively use disease in RvR? Cabbies have a lot of spells.. LT, debuffs, root, snare, disease, NS, dots, life transfer, haste debuff and a pet. The applications of the others are pretty self-explanatory but disease kind of confuses me. How can you make disease useful when it wouldn't be already better to just nuke or NS stuff? Should you always AoE disease your targets? (does disease break mez?) What about the applications in small groups? How useful is it gonna be if you're going up against say a Dark SM/RC RM combo or something, or two stealthers? Should you just always keep healers diseased for the spreadheal penalty and to make them easier to take down? How useful is the 10% snare and the strength reduction?

Sorry for the torrent of questions, and thanks for answering them happy

I play a cleric mainly, and have a cabby in molvik. I would say NS casters, and disease tanks. It can allways be applied and slows the tanks down lots. But it would mainly depend on the group that your running with. But imo, from a healers perspective, disease you cant go wrong.

I like to AE disease tank trains (slows them down slightly + small str hit, and cant heal them well) as well as disease if root immunity is up to help let people get a farther distance with kiting. I also use it as an interrupt that sticks on and lets it be hard to heal, kind of try to pre-guess your MA's target and disease before he switches... its just another nice tool to use between the others

Depends on the encounter.....

On encounters where the action starts with everyone on top of each other AoE disease to interupt (or if the other grp is stupid and like to clump)

But you need to be mindful of breaking a carpet mezz....

As a cabby you have multiple rolls, which all are needed at different time during a fight.

NS, debuff, /assist, disease.....ect

The OP's question is answered by learning how to play. Are you going to disease a caster? Of course not. But 3 tanks running toward your clerics? Absolutely.

You'll never use that snare. Well, I won't say never, but I used it once to see how long it'll last. I'll never use it. Life transfer if you have to. If the clerics say in vent that they need help healing, I'll throw out a couple. They're decent heals. Utility spell.

I'd say your first step in becoming a good cab is knowing that you don't always have to dealing damage. Start of the fight is NS'ing casters, diseasing tanks, root off support, etc. Then melt some faces. It's all play style and experience. Each situation is different.

Does disease affect the amount healed by lifetap?

i've always heard no @ disease affecting the amount returned on lifetaps.

i aoe disease T.Ts first and foremost always and forever.

then depending on if i'm on interupts or nuke duty i either.

spam ns and disease and base dex debuffs like a mofo<<this takes alot of pow but ends up being prolly the best way for me to play

or debuff/nuke with the occasional single target disease

disease does break mezz so don't spam it on a clump that your sorc just mezzed but it cuts heals done to u and done by u by 1/4 (cept spreadheal) so if u disease both the bm and the druid the bm is only gettin 1/2 the heal which is a huge huge deal. cure disease is available.. but it has no immunity timer ;P

i never fully get stuck doin either job though i tend to lean to one side or the other depending on grp setup, i can do both which is why i love the cabby.

Having a high ns I would also ns their healers, if they re too fare from their target they simply can t heal anyone at all.

So first ns casters (u can ns one caster and send pet on an other one at the same time), then healers, then AE disease, then /assist or do some utility if some tanks are annoying your group.

Usually because of the ugly pet the enemies all /assist on you though.

ns is a great long range interrupt, but if they are in close range just nuke to interrupt.
