Got to love the 'I want tanks and casters to be exactly the same' whine oO. Tanks are more than fine so long as there isnt a keep wall in the way, maybe more people will be able to see that once the zerg moves from keeps to milegates.

Also nice testing, its been rumoured for a long time that casting speed caps at 60% haste, now apears that isnt true, not that my clerics going to reach that anyway :<

I don't play a caster, so my understanding of them are limited, but how does QC function into this casting speed testing? I know QC should cut casting speed by 50%, but does that allow casters to go below 1.07?

From my understanding, QC casts at 1/2 the listed speed, so a 2.5 casts at 1.25, not 1/2 of your modified speed.

No, quickcasts make you cast all spells at exactly 2.0 seconds. There's nothing "quick" about them. Think of it as a slow, uninterruptable cast (although it's not uninterruptable).

There used to be a time when casting at 2 seconds was considered quick.

The rumoured cap is 40% of delve, which I suppose you can consider 60% haste.
The listed tests all show casts slower than this; a 2.6s spell would cast in 1.04s at 40% delve for instance.

i've been qc'd on for less than a second cast time.

casters can get below a second now. With higher damage than archers (since we get no brittle guards or spellturn), why aren't spells capped at 1.5 s as melee and bows are again?

Casters need their spell damage scaled to their dex like tanks have for quickness. And before you casters start flaming, when was the last time you fumbled a spell and missed a full attack turn? From range a caster can tear apart a lone tank usually before he can close the gap on them. Most tanks have 2k-2.4k hps and it only takes 5-10 seconds to move 2k to close on a caster, yet most of the time the tank is dead before he gets there. Once there, the tank has to be within 500 units of target, beat down self blade turn, army of brittle guards, physical defense, and rr5 RA's. What's a caster have to do? Stay at range and pass a LoS check and resist check then they get full damage for said spell while capping their casting speed.

I can assure you no caster has ever qc'd a spell in a second on you Columba. qc doesn't work the same way as normal casting as already mentioned. I know from extensive playing of all casters, when i'm buffed up casting via a qc is incredibly slow compared to my normal machine-gun style nuking. My old chanter would land 7-8 baseline nukes on a debuff-stunned enemy before they could even move (no aug dex and minor +cast speed gear), unless they had purge up. It's almost as overpowered as when i took my old botted ranger to a tower and 1 shot idiot casters with no BT up for 1100 crit shots...Which is almost as overpowered as my hero shield slamming then landing 2500-3000 damage worth of annihilations to someones rear end before it ends...

Anything, well, almost anything, can be overpowered in the right hands and in the right situation. Get nuked by a fully buffed caster and it hurts, get whacked by a fully buffed tank and it's painful, get healed by a healing class and it feels great, get assassinated by a dirty backstabber and it sucks, hell, get chain interrupted by AoE hammers from a thane and it sucks, lol.

Do what i do, blame it on the lag, after all, no self respecting DAoC player ever actually looses, there's always a handy excuse if you look hard enough wink
