hi all,
just dinged rr5. what's the best use for arms length? two i thought of were escaping a tank train and also hitting it on inc to avoid mez and be able to nearsight still. any thoughts? thanks

I mostly use it to escape the tank train. The trick is to use it to run them away from their healing. Hit AL, sprint, and go >>>>>> that way if the other guy's support is <<<<< that way. One AL drops KEEP SPRINTING. You can sometimes entirely negate 2 tanks by running them off the map.

Second use, bait the stealther. Get hit, AL 1500 units away, turn, face, nuke the crap outta them (to add insult to injury, I enjoy AoE mezzing first, recasting my BT, sit down to med a little endo, then stun nuke them when they're coming outta mezz).

Third use, if you drive your gruops, or come across a group smaller or weaker than yours, I like to AL through the other team (ghetto SoS), stop behind them and mezz their backrow. Nearsight the casters then take them down. The whole time, you'll probably go unnoticed being behind the other team and out of their peripheral vision.

Of course, everything sounds good on paper, but if you get garotted (or any melee snare) before you hit AL it's essentially negated. AL is also buggy as all hell, mash the button 10 times if you want it to really fire. Also, there are tricky little bugs which will cause you to still get mezzed or stunned with AL up, it's not fulproof at all.

AL is negated by Speed Warps also currently so make sure that your not in the area where one is setup also when you use it or the Speed Warp will over ride Arms Length and you have to wait for the re-use timer. I've reported this issue a few times but I do not have an ETA for if/when a change maybe made.

AL is very similar to SoS just that it is personal use only. Therefore if you see an issue with AL, it probably is an issue with SoS also (for example the melee snare issue I found happens with SoS also).

AL does seem to have some issues still but they have been very hard to track down. The issues only seem to occur when your not specifically looking for them. happy I have not found any specific pattern other than what I saw with the melee snares yet.

Please keep on sending me those log files/screen shots when AL seems to fail on you.

wth does a RR5 use to us if we cant use it 90% of the fights? :/

I use AL when messing with TW when he's running to or from his camping spot, I also use it for Stealthers as said above. The run through technique is great if every fight didn't open with a SW. Tank Train Melee Snare tends to negate the hell out of it when Being Trained. So I don't waste it. AL into Range of an outskirting healer to Insta debuff and begin nuking is always good too.

But to say it shouldn't even be on a quickbar is kinda dumb.

you could use it with sprint to run from market explorer to your house
