When is it posible to use critshot and when not in rvr? I know you can't critshot someone in combat. But you can critshot standing casters or archers who are using ranged.

Some times i can critshot people while running, and sometimes not. I as of yet can't determine what makes it so i am able to and not able to crit shot them while running. I know they are not in combat...because there is no one else around.

I've heard about people double critshoting people (2 crit's ina row) but not sure how this would be accomplished.

critshot+bow release "You will automatically release your shot"

Not "You will automatically release your shot and reload"

So critshot/bow then critshot/bow.

You will get the feel for when people are 'moving'. Walking is different to speed1 (which you can't critshot).

Fortunately, if the critshot wont work, you'll get a regular shot. Although you spent the time lining up the crit.....

One thing I don't know about is if you can ever get a 'crit' dmg bonus for when "You can't line up a critshot, switching to regular shot" works.

Probably can.

Lately, I've seen a lot of complaints from people who claim they were running when they were critshot. I'm sure lag plays a large role in this.

It is possible to draw a critshot on a moving target and wait for them to stop... then release the shot.

Archers and Casters are only in combat when they are in melee.

It is possible to get a critshot on person that is running if the following is true : At release of the shot the person is standing still and not in melee combat, whatever the person does in the up to 3 second, after release has no effect on the critshot.

Some Double critshot images.

Double critshoting an obvious AFK caster (notice I also kill his brittleguard;) (http://www.norvindus.dk/IMAGES/hires_critshot5.jpg)
Another double crit, it really aint so hard (http://www.norvindus.dk/IMAGES/hires_critshot6.jpg)
A bit of a brag ;) (http://www.norvindus.dk/IMAGES/hires_critshot7.jpg)
another obvious a low RR or been damaged (http://www.norvindus.dk/IMAGES/hires_critshot8.jpg)
Double Critting a Scout (http://www.norvindus.dk/IMAGES/hires_critshot9.jpg)

When everything turns against you...
What we also can run into... (http://www.norvindus.dk/IMAGES/hires_MissShot.jpg)

i only have one problem with crits: "you can't get a good shot yet". i get this msg in various situations:

- i rdy a critshot on a target but then cant fire because target ran out of range... so i switch targets and shoot. sometimes this works great, sometimes i get above msg and it wont fire.

- i rdy a critshot WITH NO target. as soon as i find a target i mark it and shoot. most of the time this works great, sometimes i get above msg and it wont fire.

- in melee, i slam my enemy, run through him, /face, rdy a critshot. sometimes it fires a crit, most of the times it fires a regular shot (different known reasons for this), and sometimes i get above msg and cant shoot (no good shot at 2m from behind...yeah!)

- sometimes i get this msg also with regular shots.

i just cant find a rule for it. what triggers this msg? and what's the purpose of it?

Here is what I have seen when trying a crit.

1. Draw your crit with no auto release and try to release shot after your shot is ready

You will get the cannot get a good shot msg if
target is moving
target is in combat (slaming puts them in combat)

2. Draw your crit with auto release

You will not get the msg because if the target doesn't meet the crit requirements it will auto switch to a regular shot.

Ceedawoman regarding your last screenshot you should know better then trying to shoot outlaw.
:D

for those not playing on the GOA excalibur server, outlaw is the main alb zerg leader on this server and runs with quite a high RR group who do their jobs well

I always target Outlaw and Zoyster :) and when they are standing on a milegate I can't leave them alone ;) Sometimes it goes ok sometimes it fails miserable

The picture is really just to illustrate what sometimes also happens with misses and PBT.

The only guy I really dislike getting into a fight with is Loxleyhood (but if I see him I shoot ) That bastard :) has every artifact imaginable and he almost never do anything wrong.

One other thing...can any hunters comment n getting a crit on a stunned enemy? I am never able to get a crit on a stunned enemy (healer stun), it always switches to a standard shot.

I don't know about casted stuns, but you're supposed to be able to crit a melee (slam) stunned enemy. Most experienced enemy stealthers, however, use an exploit that makes it impossible to crit them after a slam.
