The way the archer classes works, performs and is perceived is screwed up far more than obvious at first glance.
Mahtahtine, anyone who tries to tell you how to play your toon needs to find a nice, busy intersection in which to play. Gareth is full of these l33t solo dewdz who continuously spout off about how Stealthers are "made to solo" and anyone who runs in a group (be it a duo, trio or whatever) is lame and skill-less (this is the new VN buzz word.) Then they'll pontificate about how to actually spec and play the toon. It's really quite pathetic. Every day, there are at least 10 threads about "this guy added on my 1v1!" and "that guy is a zerger!" Funny thing is, all these idiots were playing PvE games when some of us were already RR8+ in OF.

It might've been 2000 once uppon a time, but that's before my time (with my scout).

Check the delve info on your bow. Whatever it says is the base range. Currently (excluding the odd drop that does have a bit more... example, IIRC the bows that drop off each realm's dragon have a bit more range than standard) the standard's are:

Albion: 1760
Hibernia: 1680
Midgard: 1600

The actual spread is 80 in each realm. After that, arrow bonuses are applied giving us the final ranges (without counting +range ToA stuff) that we usually quote for each other because... well, who the hell isn't using FFBs at 50?

Flight arrow bonus = 25%

Albion: 1760 + 25% = 2200
Hibernia: 1680 + 25% = 2100
Midgard: 1600 + 25% = 2000

And there's your 100 point spreads. I'm not 100% certain as I haven't tested it, but knowing how Mythic's math usually works regarding stacking bonuses, you'd probably then multiply those already modified numbers by your ToA range bonus to get the final number. So at 10% bonus you'd have ranges of 2420/2310/2200. In other words, a fully ToA'd Hunter would be equal to a non-ToA'd Scout.

As I said, there are some odd balls here and there. I think the dragon bow in Hib is like 1700 or 1720 or something like that. Might even have been less? 1690? I don't really remember, it's been a while since I've seen one. It's not a huge difference in any case.

It does bring up an interesting point though, and a big obstacle to Hunter's having their range fixed. Our range is not derived from which class we are. It's attached to our bows. Hunters have shorter range not because they are Hunters, but because every bow in Midgard has a shorter range.

I really do want to see Hunter's stop getting the crap end of the stick with this, but before you all get your hopes up too much, think about what the odds are that Mythic is going to want to spend programmer hours going in and manually changing the range on every bow in Midgard?

I wish you good luck Hunters. You'll need it for that to happen.

EDIT: I checked after I posted. Allakhazam has a screenshot of the Glimmerspirit bow, and it is 1720. So after arrow bonuses that'd be 2150, or an extra 50 points of range. I think the Alb and Mid dragon bows have something simiiliar, but I can't find an up to date screen shot (ie; since the range info was put in) of either of them.
