Can we get this stickified - after this thought

VERY nice Sned, thanks!

One thing I'd like to run by you.

Right now, I'm lvl 46, with 45 lb, am RR3 with only +9 on my LB atm (haven't changed my SC setup since... too long ago), am using a 99 qual 5.5s heavy long bow, dps 15.

When I plug those numbers in, I get 934 as my crit cap.

My crit cap on lowbie monsters is 942.

Sooo..... I checked out my weapon damage (right below weapon skill in my display). My weapon damage is 1485. When I use that number (14.85) and make my bow 100 qual, the crit cap comes out to be 943.5 - darn near right on the money.

When I use 15 dps (exactly appropriate for lvl 46 btw) and 99 qual, the crit cap comes out to 934...

I'm thinking that weapon damage number might be a better representation of actual DPS than calculating it off of quality, dps, and level of archer... any thoughts?

*edit* Wanted to also note that it looks like the calculator is not increasing the dps on 16.5 weapons until the RR field is 6... should that be required value of 5 instead?

PLEASE don't think I am being critical or anything... only debugging and the like, this calculator is tres groovie

Yeah you are right, I don't have access to the game right now, gonna make a few changes when I come home from work.

Thinks regular cap dmg should be rounded down before mutiplied by 2 for critshot cap.

Oh, and one other question - is there a "slow weapon" bonus figured into the damage cap equation that only kicks in when the weapon speed is 5.0s or greater? If so, does this calculator factor that in (or out) for bow speeds below 5.0?

~hangs his head in shame~

I'm sorry man - honestly, I wasn't trying to be critical - let me say (because I didn't emphasize it enough) that this thing is excellent and a great tool to have around here...

Let me say also that my job is software development quality assurance... so... just shoot me now - thanks for making this however bud, it REALLY is a cool tool - I'd hate you to think I was "looking a gift horse in the mouth" and all that.

Are you sure about your numbers, Tegyd ? Is it a ToA bow with 1% bonus to animals or something, could you please double check, because I simply don't get it.

Im like 2 points of dmg off my real caps max, with my different bows.

Some are 100% accurate and a few are 1-2 points from the actual number.

I will check tonight Sned, there's a good chance I have some item on with one of those random bonuses (that I never look at) that is skewing the numbers though I doubt it because I see that same number vs. all kinds of lowbie monsters...

I am wearing Orion's belt at the moment and Akil's fury is one of my melee weapons I equip... other than that, all other gear but jewelry is PCed/SCed stuff... The bow is crafted, armor is all PCed atm. Jewelry might have something on it... I will check tonight for sure when I get home from work.

Real nice, and looks pretty accurate, thanks a lot!

I also think I can explain your few points difference too. Dex does add damage, all be it not much, so could that be causing the varience with different bows? It's 8 lower than my actual crit cap, but I have + 25 dex on my suit and aug dex 2 (old RA's)

Nice job on the calc, that's very handy.

I'm pretty sure the earlier poster was correct that quality doesn't matter for cap damage. (It just matters for average damage.) We can get that result right now by setting qual to 100%, but you might want to remove that line so that people aren't confused when their tested cap is slightly higher than what the calc predicts.

I don't think char level figures in either. My 47 scout, 41+11 longbow (including RR2 bonus), capped at 1004 with a 99% 5.5 longbow. If I enter 15.3 dps (his effective dps at 47), level 50, 100% qual, I get exactly 1004 from your calc.

Put in the figures for my playermade 5.5 speed so no ToA bonus. It was one out it gave 1026 when it is actually 1025. Great tool Sned will have to check my fools bow cap on greys.

I dont think so otherwise everyones critshot cap would always be even numbers. I belive the rounding down is done after the critshot is calcualted. My regular shot caps at 512 and critshot caps at 1025. Looks like the rounding down is done after the shot damage is calculated.

I just doublechecked my crit cap and normal shot caps on dragon flies in gothwaite harbor.

My actual crit cap is 942, normal shot is 471.

Bow is a 99 qual 15.0 dps 5.5 speed heavy long bow

I am level 46, spec is 45+11 lb

RR3, so 9 from items, 2 from RR

Delve weapon damage on bow effective DPS says 14.9, weapon damage stat in my character sheet window says 1485.

Per the calculator above, I should be hitting at 930. As you know we have no str relics on Guin.

I just checked all my gear over, the only damage bonuses I have are on my melee weapon, Akil's Fury, which is of course not equipped when I'm firing my bow.

I've had this crit cap since before I was using Orions Belt as well.
