What is the deal with Base AF buff? 05/09/05 4:02 PM

In testing recenlty I've knowticed that my base line AF buff (on a level 50 Cleric with 25% ToA bonuses) will give at most 4 AF points. Usually 1 or 2, and sometimes none at all.

Is this a bug? a Nerf? has it always been like this and im the last to know?? Is anyone else getting the same results? I've tested with 3 clerics and a heretic with the same results.

Baseline AF will not go past the normal AF caps, which if you have 99 or 100% quality armor you're damn near anyway. The cap is : level x 10 x (1+abs %)

So lets say leather at 10% abs and level 50 : 50x10x1.10 = 550 so if you've got 99 and 100% armor you'd have like 540-550 and the basebuff would bring it to 550.

Now spec AF buffs, paladin AF chants, and ToA AF will go over that cap.

The heretic should gain the full value also, since they wear cloth which gives 250 af max and their self AF buff is considered a spec buff (most caster AF buffs are in line with the cleric base AF so it wont go past 500 before spec AFs)

I do not think that is right. I have no idea what the calculation is for AF buffs, but i do know that my inf has well over 800AF fully buffed and my scout has 832, but he has an 88 AF piece and a 96 AF piece.

I think my pally has over 1000 with his self AF buff and chant running.

I read this somewhere and I've tested it myself. I know for sure that the base af wont go over the cap. The only time base af is even worth using is when you have gear like you said your scout does, as it will fill in the af that the gear doesn't give. One other thing I forgot to note, rr5 and lvl 50 = lvl 51 for af and dps purposes so you'll get 51x 10 x 1+abs or 561 for leather

I tested this on my friar just so I could have numbers to throw out there:

Unbuffed in epic (100 af 100% leather) af is (not RR5 yet) : 561 (I have +10 toa af on the staff, weirdly enough I removed the staff later and dropped to 550 so it gave +11 /shrug)
Base AF buff added exactly 0
Spec AF brought me up to 640 (and friar spec af is a little better than cleric[72 vs 67] but I have no buff bonus atm.... needs new gear bad :P)

an 800 AF inf? Maybe at RR5 with GoV proc up, capped toa AF, red cleric AF, and 100% lvl 51 gear, but even then it sounds a little exaggerated, 832 scout is a little more believable but still sounds off, paladins over 1000 af is nothing new though. I believe my old one hit 1020 with the chant up. Either way if you have mp gear at or above your level base af will add nothing.
